When you submit a draft, it is sent to OpenAI’s API for editing. LeftPen does not save your draft or result to files, databases, or access logs. Refreshing the page clears the editor. Please do not submit sensitive personal or confidential information.

Sign-in and usage records

A Muckle account is required to edit text or use examples. The account server verifies your sign-in and account creation time. LeftPen stores a pseudonymous member identifier, usage counts, wait times, invitation codes and signup attribution. Raw account IDs, emails, drafts and results are not saved to the usage database. Member and referral records are retained while providing the service and ongoing invitation benefits. Contact us below for deletion requests.

The LeftPen session cookie lasts up to one hour, the sign-in transaction cookie ten minutes, and the referral visit cookie seven days. A random browser identifier used to prevent duplicate referral awards lasts one year. Expired sign-in transactions are removed on subsequent sign-in requests. Referral timestamps are held in a signed cookie. Salted IP hashes and counts used to limit repeated entry requests are valid for up to ten minutes and pruned on subsequent requests. The language cookie lasts one year; theme preferences stay on this device. You can clear cookies and device storage in browser settings.

Advertisements and affiliate links

Google AdSense and affiliate advertising providers may process cookies and connection information to display and measure ads. Their policies apply when you visit their services. We do not include your draft in advertising links. Google advertising
